Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars: an artist who could successfully cross the divide between pop and country music, conquering the globe. Swift left her heritage in country music like a second-skin, and revealed that she was the most refined pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to take the popular zeitgeist when she went on tour. The skills she displayed could be seen in her first tracks, including the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on her sophomore album Fearless released in 2008 Swift could identify who she is and find an audience that was large. Fearless was successful not only on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. Its Top Ten songs Love Story and I Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. However, it did well all over the world. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous success, and catapulted the singer into superstardom. Swift's popularity grew throughout her three subsequent albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within an industry she felt was hers to be. The popularity of her music grew after she reformulated her approach by releasing 2020's streamlined folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
