Kari Wuhrer was born April 28th, 1967. She is an American actor and singer. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager and is best recognized for her role as Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), who is a payroll manager, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and auto salesman. She is the youngest of her three siblings. When she was young she sang in nightclubs, and then went on to perform. When she began studying acting at Wooster School at 13 years old, she was a drama student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Additionally, she studied in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the famed Uta Hagen. Born in Brookfield Connecticut on the 28th of April She was raised in the town. Her mother works as an accountant for payroll, while her father is German-American and is a police officer and auto salesman. Kari is one of the three youngest children. When she was in her teens her nightclub performances were a highlight by slipping away to perform. Kari began studying acting when she was 13. She then studied acting at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York University and Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College in addition to at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in collaboration with Uta Hagen, a renowned instructor. Kari was first introduced to acting when she was 13 and got her first big break in 1987 when she appeared on MTV Remote Control.
