Allison Chinchar works as a weather forecaster for CNN and HLN. She frequently appears on CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Prior to making the move to CNN, in June of 2015, she worked at several local radio stations, among them those located in Atlanta as well as Nashville. She reported on hurricanes, blizzards, and storms along with flooding and wildfires, and received an Emmy for the coverage she offered of Dorian. Dorian that struck the Bahamas during the year of 2019. In April of 2011 she was a reporter for the super-tornado outbreak where 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States within four days. Over 200 of them were recorded on the 27th of April the day of the Super Tornado Outbreak. With her expertise in environmental science, she's covered earthquakes, volcanoes, and other natural disasters along with climate change stories. Chinchar holds a Bachelor's degree of Atmospheric Science, which she completed at The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of a number of associations, including the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
